Can the coastguard get a positional fix on an MMSI?
If so it might be worth not putting your MMSI into the one you get as a replacement for a while...get my drift?

If they sell it though...?
I would imagine they didn't steal it for their own boat.

With a bit of luck they'll install it into their boat, get in trouble and hit the DSC. Will be your MMSI number transmitted and when they're rescued the old bill will be waiting for them .
On other hand they could Hoax DSC call outs and you'll get the blame, Court, imprisonment and Fine .

Sorry to hear this!! B tards
How's about getting RIBNetters to call the MMSI on a one to one call, and see if they get an answer?. Then take it from there!!

Lurcher,
Sorry to hear this. All Pikeys should be burnt.
Where do you mean by the moorings at Hayling ?
Don't forget to report it to the Police. It might turn up.

And to clear yourself from any MMSI misunderstandings that might arise.

Pikeys or dare I say it Travellers get blamed for a lot of things but dont think they are responsible in this case. By blaming them you are taking the heat off the local toe rags who are more than likely the culprits. As Biggles says report it and you never know?

Just an idea. The VHF and the Ant. were taken. This sounds to me like the culprits were after a marine VHF set up. Probably a boat owner.

Well they must have had little knowledge as everyone knows that DSC sets have to be "chipped" to enable a replacement MMSI number to be used, well mine does anyway.
Hope they catch the culprets.
