Tim Wilks
I have just heard the sad news that Tim Wilks died yesterday after collapsing during a triathlon race in the New Forest. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, he died almost instantly.
Tim founded Ribtec in 1989, and was managing director until the company was sold to Ribeye in 2001. He later went on to work with Pascoe International where he developed their super-yacht tender business.
He was someone who always managed to find something to smile about, and without a doubt was one of the good guys in the industry. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

I had a phone call just after work today with this sad news. He was one of the good guys sadly now lacking in the industry.

I was lucky to know Tim for over 35 years, back to the Watercraft days. He built Ribtec up from nothing with friends here on Hayling having hull numbers in the single digits built in the barn at Exton.
We worked together on the Camel 2000 project and the site of 51 identical Camel RIB's manouvering Southampton Water was a fantastic achievement for such a small company. I hope he was very proud.
He was a true friend and I shall miss him dearly. He even bought me a drink once....

Hi Biff,
Still can't take it in. Really was a top bloke and I remember the times building the CT RIB's so clearly yet it was 10 years ago. Spoke with Alan R today and he's also devastated.
Good to hear from you and yes, no doubt see you in the next couple of weeks, shame it's not for a beer with Tim.
Please give my love to Mandi if you see her.
Richard.

An old friend...
Sorting through old pic's I came across these and thought of my dear old friend Tim. Such a top bloke....
I still have the blue tubed RIB in the pic, it's as good as new and still makes me smile!
Miss the old bugger....

Camel Trophy
I remember very well the task of my company making everyone one of those tubes, and of course the self righting bags as well and every hull was trailered up to Wincanton for fitting. Quite a project!
