Text hasn't come through Billy, but thanks all the same👍 In the Lochmaddy hotel as we speak wrapping ourselves around a Durachs Own, a fine end to a fantastic day, absolutely knackered. The boats are safe in the marina & we are wild camping by the ferry terminal

So Mick made it up then?!
The midges were brutal, I was expecting to find a shrivelled up Yorkshireman in the morning but he was gone by 7:30.

Well done.
I was relieved when I saw your tents had gone this morning.
The wind is up today and chatting to the fisherman, it is here to stay for a week.

Would it be possible to speak to you on the phone this week sometime. My wife and I are going to travel from the mainland to St Kilda in our Rib in the next fortnight. We are staying near Gairloch and intend to launch from there, stop at Leverburgh, then on to Hirta. It's a bit of a bottle test due to the distance together with how quickly the weather can change up there and we could do with picking your brains about your trip and mooring in Village Bay, if you don't mind sparing us a few minutes, thanks, Phil.

Epic trip and brilliant place to visit. What totally gobsmacked me is the fact that in 1727 11 st Kildans were marooned on one of the stacks for 9 months over the winter when smallpox killed most of the men on the main island and no one could man the boat to rescue them till the following year! Hard types in those days...
