Tohatsu steering damper?

Trying to find an alternative to my "elasticated anti-torque pulley system" on my Thundercat/Tohatsu 50 - it works ok-ish, but wondering whether the more permanently mounted devices would work better?

Does anyone know which companies make steering dampers for the Tohatsu - that counteracts the prop torque?
I do have a Mercedes E190 steering damper lying around plus a nicely water-jetted bracket - but that would only dampen the movement - not remove the torque - so I would basically add more components w/o much improvement ?

thanks.

I don't know of any dampers purely for removing steering torque, probably quite tricky to achieve. I always just used a bungee system like you described, you could use a hydraulic steering damper with a valve which you can adjust, could pretty much lock off the steering for big cleavers

Thx. You maybe have a point here.
Just scratching my head over what solutions are out there. I see voomwoom is selling a gizmo which sounds like what you mention (damper with a lockout). Might have to give them a ring.

While we are at it - any pointers as to where you can buy EVA foam for "seat" / back rest? Is proving a challenge to find.
