Top retube work by Paul Tilley

Just to say thanks to Paul on the forum here

Got my little Tornado back today from Devon (by a very handy man who I will mention later )

Lovely job Paul and his guys have done a great job, the boat looks like new as a result, he put 5 chambers in too without me even asking ,which for a 5.3m is nice and as its hypalon now as opposed to the OEM's PU or PVC, it looks great and will no doubt last for years All done in a good time frame when you were no doubt very busy too Paul ? , and I hope your health continues to recover well after your recent events too mate

Thanks again

Now to find a Yam 90 and new console

So, who's the Mystery Courier then?

Well .. I was embarrased to post a pic of it all deflated with them burst, it looked like a drowned rat

Cant remember if I posted the story of how the original finally burst big time which involved the port cone acting as a scoop and filling the entire port tube with sea water at 30 knots

The RIB man in me wanted to pull out my Bowie knife and slash the tube to release the pressure .. but being a gentleman I pushed my finger into the valve instead

Bigmuz7 thanks for the compliments ,the guys that work for me do a very good job and have done me proud during the last few months with the help of my wife and son who will hopefully take over the business one day .whilst i am on I would like to thank every ribnetter for their well wishes ,i was only out of contact with the business whilst in intensive care the rest of the time email and mobiles took care of everything .I have now got a lung capacity of 24% (approx half a lung) and very very slowly improving even back to racing a motorbike in speed hillclimb events

A gentleman by the name of 'George' who will take your boat to/from anywhere whenever you need him to, including abroad He is smartly turned out and very easy to deal with and easy to negotiate with.

He was thoughtful enough to let the tubes on my RIB down, due it being a hot day when he was towing it, and Ive been quite impressed with his knowledge on all matters road related, which, being a professional driver myself, gave me a good degree of confidence about him. He definately gave me the impression of a careful haulier for your precious cargo, I found him through the Shiply site

When I needed my boat collecting, he even made all the arrangements for collection of it himself ... initative ... thats hard to find these days

That said I dont know the chap personally, and I certainly made sure my RIB insurance was up to date before I used him, It would be for any forum member to satisfy themselves accordingly before using this chap, although he did assure me he was insured for goods in transit, though I saw no documents confirming this, because I considered my boat to be of such low value when it went south, I thought I'd take the chance

PM me if you want his number

Paul, I'm sorry to hear that, I've been out of the country and didn't realise you weren't well. I'm always sad to hear that friends aren't doing well so my best hopes for your continued if not speedy recovery.

I was going to call you tomorrow as we need some stuff feel a bit guilty now! But don't worry it won't last

Over the years Paul has done several re-tubes for me and 1 near impossible repair, always been friendly, on time, reasonably priced and excellent quality. The near impossible repair was done by his son so I'm confident that the quality will continue when he does take over.

There's a very special Searider 5.4 (Sorry Jurgen!) that's going to be on the show us your Searider thread which will feature a lovely set of tubes made by Paul

all the best Paul
