Torbay Rib Net gathering

Torbay Rib Net gathering

I would like to announce the first meeting of the Torbay (and surrounding area) Rib Net users group.

To take place on Thursday 9th Dec at the Weary Ploughman on the A3022 Dartmouth Road Churston (N50-23.779 W003-33.348), 7:30pm onwards.

There is plenty of parking and bar meals are available.

All in the area at the time are welcome.

Look forward to seeing you.

Kitten and I will put it on our office calender and hope to be there - will there be room for a 20 ton lorry with a brand new rib on it? (Not promising anything but ................?)

Well for an auspicious occasion like that I may need to pay an early Christmas visit to the South Hams myself! I'll just give Mum a ring and tell her to get my bedroom ready!

Really pleased to hear it's nearly ready and very much looking forward to seeing what the finished item looks like! It was difficult to visualise when we saw it last Christmas. Was it still in the mould when we saw it or had you just pulled it out?

It was still very much a plug last christmas, only the foredeck mould was pulled by then.
Here's Cookee looking like he's polishing. December 03

Ah yes! I remember now! So is it really looking like it might be ready in a week or two? The photos posted a month or so ago were interesting but it looked (to my untrained eye) like completion was still quite a long way off! Or have you and Cookee been burning the midnight oil?

The carpark has plenty of room but there is a steep slope down from the main road.
You can have two goes at it though as there is an entrance either side. If you do bring the lorry I would get out and have a look first !!

Look forward to meeting you, with or without the new boat
