Tornado baffles and tube valves
My 4.8 mtr Tornado rib has been looked after very well for the last 21 years. Recently I noticed the tubes were all inflating at the same time meaning the internal baffles were leaking plus the inflation valves were leaking.
The boat was too good to scrap so I rang round for a quote to repair.
Nobody wanted to do the baffles and I was advised to have it re-tubed at £3k cost
I finally got a company to quote just to repair the baffles and valves at a fraction of the cost of re-tubing they were NC Ribs at Hull
They had the boat for a week and on collection I was surprised as the boat looked brand new . You could hardly see where it had been repaired plus they had gone round the boat and tidied all the small items that needed re glueing etc
Paul Stubbins who did the repair had saved the old baffles plus took extensive photos of the repair process
