My experience is 24-36 hours when running on the internal battery.
A few points which need to be taken into consideration when you're hiding the tracker somewhere discrete...
1. The Xenun tracker in NOT waterproof. Easy enough to make your own provision for this though.
2. The hard wire charger is via a mini usb...you'll need to make sure the tracker is securely mounted and that the usb is taped or similar in place or, at least, check it's still connected after you've been wave jumping
3. Obviously, the tracker needs to be able to 'see' the GPS and GSM signals
Having said that, I really struggled to find a place on my boat where it couldn't see these signals. In fact, it can still see them when my boats in the garage and when the loft above it is full of the usual family clutter and crap. Just saying test your location before committing to it.
4. Choose a PAYG SIM from a provider whose coverage is strongest in the area you'll be keeping the boat most of the time. Forget brand loyalty and test it regularly...some SIM's lapse if left unused even if there's credit on them.
Hope this helps...
