Tracking Ships via AIS

This is a pretty cool site. It allows you to watch the progress of ships and ferrys etc using AIS data. It tells you their speed and bearing etc. I have just watched the Red jet ferry come out of cowes and go across the solent at 35kts. The site covers most areas of the uk. It updates every 2 minutes.

You can also browse the history and see where and in what direction a ship has been etc.
