Trafalgar Day Marshalls
I wonder who on RIBnet is going to be part of the 140+ marshalling fleet on Trafalgar Day and previous day's rehearsal (and who is helping on the previous weekend).
I sense there may be some opportunitities to socialise!
We are going to the Southampton briefing on the Friday and are 'on' on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, as well as Mon and Tue.
Who else will be there - who to look out for?
Should be a fascinating time!
Bruce

We're there!
We're doing the mooring patrol on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and the Monday and Tuesday slots.

I'll be crewing on the 28th. Hopefully my skipper will know what's going on! Any feedback from early briefings would be appreciated.
My plan is to stay around to see the fireworks, but I don't know if we'll be ashore or still afloat by this time. I suspect that the day will be mayhem (organised mayhem admittedly!), and opportunities to socialise might be limited.
John

We're there as well. Went to the briefing in Cowes last night - if anyone is marshalling the Gold area I think you are in for a busy few days
We are staying in Cowes Sunday to Tuesday & I think something medicinal to settle the stomach at the end of each day would be in order. How about the Globe?
Regards
Ian.

Well we are just going to watch and as we are part of the same organisation perhaps someone could advise on the best vantage point. We are launching from Calshot on Tuesday 28th early morning?
I have to say it is a little worrying that on this first page of this thread there seem to be 4 briefings at different locations!! Please put my mind at rest and tell me that you will all be "dancing to the same tune"?
regards
Martyn

All is cool Martyn! The briefings will all say the same thing - it's just to make it easier for people to have a choice of location, and (presumably) it means they don't need to find a venue big enough for 200+ people!
Regarding best vantage point, knowing how us Brits love queueing for the best bargains/viewing points they'll probably all be bagged the weekend before!

Thanks Louise
As we are only little I thought that we might land on some inaccessible beach where we can watch at our leisure?
Going to recce it this coming weekend.

I'm a spectator too. I'm planning to go for the South West viewing area, if I can get a place......

I don't think Renegade and HRH would mix.
Actually nor would Blue Ice nor Farfetched.
A question - for the Senior Members of the Royal Family - what names would their RIBs have?

Richard
You miss-heard, JHH is on board.
Quite glad really. I don't want half a dozen Destroyers passing close to either side at 20kts.
Bruce.
Royalty in a rib?
They are all Rag and Stick merchants.
