I have just purchased a new A frame for my Humber rib. The fittings on the transom are in completely different places to the old one so I am wondering should I drill new holes and fill the old ones or should I get some stainless wire and re weld the fittings to fit the existing holes? What are your thoughts?

If you or someone you know can weld stainless go for that, the least holes in the transom the better

RIBase
I'd make the frame fit the transom, not vice-versa
