Transom mounting plate for Caribe C10X

Hi all,

My aluminum outboard mounting plate is completely corroded on my 2004 Caribe with center console. I have a 20 hp Honda on it. Where can I find a replacement?

Also, the clamp screws are frozen. I tried SeaFoam Deep Creep penetrating oil which usually works really well for me. No luck so far. I'm afraid I will break the plastic parts if I put a wrench on them. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Barry

If you have to get the engine off damn the plastic parts and crack out the big wrench, then in the future put a screwdriver in the hole at the end of the bolt to twist it on and off, looks like you've suffered some galvanic corrosion, give it another shot of penetrant and maybe heat it a little with a blowtorch or heat gun

Thanks! I will drill out the rivets and remove the plastic.

As for a replacement I'd just screw a nice piece of ss or aluminium in place, a bit bigger than that pad

That's a good idea. The commercial ones are overpriced.
