Trip report - Sea to Ski in Princess Louisa

The ski season ended early this year so we thought we'd make one last bid for a few turns.

We boated up Princess Louisa inlet from Vancouver which is about 100 nautical miles. Spent the night, climbed 1100m with skis and spent another night in the rain. Sunday morning was sunny so we climbed more and we got some turns in before heading all the way back down and boating home with just enough daylight.

We were a little nervous about boating through the rapids to the inlet. We talked to the park ranger and she assured us that our boat would be good in most conditions through the tidal narrows.

It was close to slack when we went through. You can see some movement in the shot with the wake.

Here's an older video of a boat going through at higher flow

As everyone else, what a fantastic place to live and do your boating.

I've been lucky enough to travel extensively for work over the years, and have spent time in fantastic places around the world, but have always said that Canada is the only place I'd consider moving to permanently.

My two lads and I have a plan for a few years time to take a month off, hire 3 motorcycles and do a month travelling around starting @Vancouver.

Thanks for all the kind comments.

I'll be the first to admit that we have it pretty good here. I don't have to travel far to be boating in the forests.

Looks awesome. Can't wait to get my Rib all sorted for ski trips into Prince William Sound a bit north of you. Thanks for sharing!
