Trip to Torbay with our Rib

We took the Rib to Torbay and camped at Wall Park Camp site in Brixham. This is a lovely area for boating particularly with a Rib or even a Sib. Or any other boat for that matter.

I will post a series of videos to hopefully help, inform and inspire other boaters as I know I have done in the past to visit this lovely area known as ‘The English Riveria’

For those that are interested :

Day 1

Glad you had a good weekend. Weather looks far better than the forecast.

I was planning to get down but the weather forecast was for F5 winds and rain on Sat /Sun so decided not to risk a 250 mile round trip and instead crack on with the jobs at home in anticipation of better weekends to come. Next weekend is looking a lot better M5 apparently was a nightmare Sat morning.

Brixham / Torquay both good places to launch from to enjoy the area. Heading East the Exe Is good (on a rising tide) but stick to the channel and further afield there is Lyme Regis.

Have an uncongested and safe trip home

And mine, , Teignmouth is a descent place to launch with access to Torquay, spent a descent day there during the air show, the jets get rather low over the water, quite a sight.

The weather here has been very good. One day/evening had a lot of rain and the wind has been quite strong but it is fron the west so off the land which gives OK seas. We are also here for the airshow and will hopefully see that from the water which if you ever get the chance is so much better

I am not strictly retired although her indoors is. I still do several hours a week but offten incorporate that with travel.

All I can say is if you can reduce work hours do so as soon as possible because by a certain age doing stuff like boating can get difficult depending on how fit you are etc. Don’t just carry on working if you don’t need to unless of course you love what you do 👍

Well you have a good job, know what you mean about early retirement, life has a way of throwing curve balls and time goes so quickly that before you know it the things you used to take for granted become difficult to do.

Weather has not been so good the last couple of days so the Rib has been stationary. We did however get out on the lovely River Dart in the Itiwit X100 Canoo and although very windy we had a lovely day. Video below

Another little video from our trip to Torbay.

As I know and have been told my other videos have inspired people to get to places in their boats I hope these videos inspire other boaters to come to Torbay.
