Can anyone recommend a good cleaner for my boat's tubes?

I used RIBShine with great success on a very old and dirty Humber I used to have (which was army grey). It made it look like new again.

I have heard that it can cause streaking, especially on darker hypalon. but i think this is when you try to apply it in direct sunlight and drips of the Ribshine dry as it runs down the tube.

This topic has been discussed many times - use the forum search and you will find loads of info.

I now have a new boat and I am currently using Armour All on it (as suggested by Manos I believe) as this tends to protect the boat from getting dirty in the first place and is also supposed to have UV protection qualities.

I agree Ribshine is the best all round tube cleaner I have used, but don't get it on coloured vinyl patches, as the colour runs out on to the tubes. Agree streaking can be a problem but as you say, it's where it runs down to untreated areas. You need plentiful suppies of fresh water with this stuff. The Ribshine UV protector and sealer is also quite good although I'm going to try that floor polish stuff everyone is on about.

best cleaner I have found

Hi
We use spray nine and it is fantastic. My latest purchase was a boat stored outside for 4 years under a tree and was a hypolon tubed ribcraft.
I tried 3 m a nd all the others eventually I asked a chap who does rib repairs and he said spray nine every time.

not cheap but the results were amazing, after putting it on a wipe over caused it to go back to the original colour!!!!!

the company that sell have a web site under spray nine (uk) and the cleaner is their general purpose one £16.00 squids for 4 litres

Hi

We use Nautical Ease inflatable boat cleaner http://www.nauticalease.com/products/inflatable2.htm it works better than anything else we have used. To protect the tubes from UV and dirt once the tubes have been cleaned we use 3M 303 AEROSPACE PROTECTANT basically like amour all but much better, sunscreen for your rib.

We use Rib Revive Here http://www.pristinemarine.co.uk/cleaning_products.html

Cleans well but you do need a protectant afterwards.

Definitely “Rib Revive” from Pristine Cleaning Solutions. I have tried all the rest and this is defiantly the best. They do a protector too.

Rib revive £11.73 for 1lt
Protector £11.74

I think most people do.

The flat foam type are quite popular on RIBs

http://www.seamarknunn.co.uk/catalog/items/item1360.htm

I decided there was no way I was going to spend that sort of money on a bit of foam so I bought some excercise mats that were on offer - £10 each and will make 4 fenders - just thread a bit of rope through!!!
