Tube colours and stuff

Hi all,

We have just specified to our manufacturer the colours for the RIB, initially we chose a blue hull, grey tubes and a blue and white furnished interior.

Having had a dreadful conversation with the owner of the company, it seems as though they can either give us a blue hull, but because of heat/UV (I'm not entirely sure) the print off one of the layers actually shows up!! Apparently this is quite common with dark hulls - first I'd heard of it.

Anyway, we have now chosen white hulls, light grey tubes and a Royal blue furnished interior - In your opinions, is this a boring, conservative, normal and safe or would it have been better to go with something with a Med feel, like white hulls, white decks, yellow or turqoise furnished interior + Tek-Dek floor covering or blue/red hull, white deck and an overall sporty look.

Answers greatfully received.

Brgds,

Nick

probably is a little more run of the mill, but white hulls are easy to repair and grey tubes are more fade resistant. Why not try to do something with the wear patches . Could use the blue on these.

Never heard of that before but I know that Swan yachts (mega-money, Nautor boats) had massive problems with their 45 ft one design hulls in dark colours. Heat gain was the issue there as well. Good old fashioned white works!!

Have you ever seen the lay-up through the gel on a Sunseeker?
