U Nut Fasteners

Anyone know where to get stainless U nut fasteners (or an alternative), It's to hold an access cover in place.

Did that first, no stainless, some fancy anodised ally at silly price for the motorcycles.

Make em yourself.

A Piece of 1 or 2mm thick stainless plate, whatever size you need. Lets say about 50mm long and 15mm wide. Fold it over on it's self (so it's about 25mm long) then drill to the desired tapping size, open one of the holes to a clearance size and tap the other side.

these any good?
i can post you some 4mm or 6mm in a2 s/steel,possibly got 8mm lurking in stores also
simply drill hole and pull up using a bolt and washer just as good as having the correct fitting tool leaves it there
