Underdeck trunking, annyone has done it?

Hi all,

Did anyone positionned an underdeck trunking when replacing a rotten deck on a RIB? I plan to re-do mine so any advise will be much appreciated. Preferably few pics of the job in progress so the layout is visible.

Cheers

It's a very normal thing to do, I'd say most RIBs over @5M will have it as standard.

I've recently replaced the original trunking in my Ocean.

The only advise I'd give is to work out what diameter you need, then make it bigger
Actually, go for the biggest you can get under the deck.

Oh, and stick a witches hat on either end so it can't fill up with water.

A couple of images of the 4" trunking I've put in just before I glassed it in.

It goes from inside the console to under the rear moulding on my Ocean.
I've also brought each end through the deck at @45deg, as it makes it easier to feed larger stiffer things down there (Fnarrr) like Hydraulic steering hoses.

Thanks, great, so you just created 2 suitable diameter holes and passed the tubing where you needed it? Then glassed the ends and waterproofed with witch hats?

Thanks for help,

It would be a lot easier if the deck was up to be replaced anyway.

As I wasn't taking the deck up it took a lot of pushing, shoving, sweat, and actually blood to get it from one end to the other, but I'd chosen a size that only just fitted to give me the maximum amount of space.
