Update your CG66 again this year!!!

That time of year again, I've just renewed my CG66 form with the coastguard.

It's free!!

If the coastguard know what your vessel is, how many people are usually aboard, its colour and what safety kit you have all based from your DSC panic button/MMSI or just your call sign, they will find you much more quickly!!

You can update or register if its new to you here MCA - CG66

storage

it says it is stored for 2 years on the hard copy form and 1 month prior they will contact you to see if it is current...... though i don't think they do and I'd guess it is binned as soon as it is uploaded to a database (It's not 1993!) then it just expires after 2 years. Best to log in and renew it each year.

Good post - thanks for the reminder

When you register, your details are entered in the CG66 database and kept on record for two years. The information is only used for search and rescue and safety purposes. After two years, you'll need to update your details or they will be removed from the database.
If the details of your vessel or your contact details change, update your details in the CG66 database so the coastguard has the correct information. If you dispose of your vessel, let your local MRCC know.
