Glad he's sorted (ours sold on the day we spoke anyway). Are you sure its a Valiant and not a Narwhal ? There was a cheaper one on the bay, 450 with Merc 60 4 stroke. 2004 engine.

Looks nice, shallow but great for general use.

Mine seems ok, not had any probs with it, 60 hp 2 stroke mercury engine, tubes look fairly robust, seems to be a nice dry boat obviously if used within its limits,mine has a center console jockey type seat, great for two but can get a few more on if sensible, managed last years trip to yarmouth in solent chop ( but was a bit small for the waves),

Spent some time on the boat pictured . Seems well put together and practical for short hops.

The rig of the boat has made it very stern heavy - something that I am sure the centre console boat wont suffer from .

Going to put some lifting fins on the OB shortly. Max speed with the 40 is about 30knts - very close performance wise to my boat ( 4m with a 50 & fins).

Does seem to be a much drier ride than my Avon - but this maybe due to the Mattesqe bow high trim at the moment.

Need to get a cushion made for the bow seat as I kept sliding off on the way to Yarmouth on sat .

Usual boring video here ( with family pics for the owners;

I had a 4.50 m ( Valiant 450 V - 2001) with a 2 ST 40 HP Mariner. It was a little slow and hungry.
I now have a 5.20 m (Valiant 520 PT - 2006) with a 4 ST 90 HP Suzuki. Fun to ride, a little stern heavy, not that hungry.
Never had any troubles with tubes and body.
