2003 mercury 50 hp two stroke

maybe a bit over powered for the hull some slip in turns
but as i say a good all rounder

My 490 slips a bit when pushed hard. Thats with a yamaha 50 4stoke. Good all round boat.Daniel TD5, did your hull gather much water? How dod you find the rear bench seat? Did you have to move the jockey forward?

hi jieboy

found the boat well balanced the hull was a solas type and fully sealed so no water ever got in no drain fitted . the bench seat was a valiant part and fitted well with two 25l tanks in it the jockey was mounted as far forward as it would go

i had a vanguard 4.50v with a mariner 40hp which did 30 knots and no slip at all valiant recomend a 40 hp on all 4.50m max 60hp seem strange
i think the 50 is about as much they will take with out mayor sliping in turns
