Vandée/La Rochelle coastal launching

Hi all,

Am staying between La Roche-sur-Yon and Luçon in the Vandée in mid-France and would like to launch my Bombard Aerotec 380 to do some coastal cruising and tow the kids in a donut. From various helpful posts on this forum I believe I have the required paperwork etc.

Does anyone know of good spots and/or launches along the coast?

Nearest beach places our friends (who we’re staying with but who aren’t boaters) go to are La Tranche-sur-Mer and Jard-sur-Mer - does anyone know if either of those would be suitable or if there’s somewhere else nearby?

Reporting back - had a great time going out from Jard-sur-Mer. €7 to launch and park for the day in the marina, friendly harbour master and lovely time with the kids on the boat and towing the donut.
Only thing I was told off on the way back in by a jet ski instructor for not using an orange flag while towing - I didn’t know about this apparent “standard international maritime code” and neither did the harbour master to be fair!
Anyway, worth a trip if you’re in the area.
