Hi Hannah,

I did my VHF course with Doug at stormforce coaching last weekend. very good course, only £65 plus 20 quid to the RYA and i got a lot from it.

www.stormforce.biz

there are lots of other places around. i am sure you will get some more replies on here.

Doug is indeed good (he's who I was teaching the PB2 course for Easter weekend) and he's got ALL the gear!

You can do the course and will get Certificate of Competence and you will get your Authority to Operate when you turn 16.

Have a great course

RIBase
Hi Hannah,
I'm running VHF courses on Wednesday 13th and Friday 29th April out of the Professional Powerboat Training's new office in Shamrock Quay, Southampton. Ring 01758 612 685 and ask for Aime. She will quote you a rate.

Regards

Hannah It's also worth contacting Gaffirs as they do VHF courses (Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue) I rthik they teach the courses from their rescue station which is cool! The money also goes to a safety net that's good to have around you when on the water

I would also ask any school if the only use the PC smulators or the have live radio simulators as well.
I would try to go to a school that uses live radio sims.
It is far more realistic than using the PC based sims.

All IMHO
