Aye! He’s angling in the rod holder thread too, but I’ve already had my breakfast [emoji6]

OK I was referring to all handheld DSC VHF. I should have been more specific.

Being VERY specific is the method most posters use when they first engage with a forum troll. FWIW it doesn't really help because they aren't going to agree with you or admit their previous mistakes. They're just there to annoy you and will proceed to do just that.
Typical ploys are:
- Pretending they didn't say what they said
- Saying the exact opposite of what they said and then stating it was what they said originally
- Saying they were just saying the thing to get a rise
- Being proven wrong, but arguing in ever decreasing circles until they get something right eventually - then claiming total victory.
They're more to be pitied than laughed at...

You are absolutely correct! In this case I was very lapse as I know this particular troll from another boating forum.

People do get rather upset when they are shown to be incorrect and like to throw the old troll accusation about.

Fact is you said all Handheld VHF's have GPS So if the OP had have listened to you he might have gone out and bought something that was not what he wanted.

Wow I stand corrected. I was only looking at this a few years back. That is excellent news that you can get DSC radios with in built gps. And you could knock me down with a feather that all handheld vhs radios now have gps.
I need to buy a new hand held one I think

Handheld DSC VHF have GPS built in. My earlier comment was slightly misleading if not associated with your earlier post, I missed out the DSC part.
My apologies to all.

I just had an unscientific check on the Marine Superstore website.
All the fixed VHF radio's have a DSC capability (I think it's a requirement for fixed VHF's now) and about 50% of the fixed VHF's have their own GPS installed i.e. you don't have to link it to a chartplotter. It's not a price thing - the #160 Cobra has a integral GPS but the #530 Garmin doesn't.
# = GBP
All DSC VHF handhelds must have GPS built in. There would be little point in having to wire your handheld into a chartplotter so it could get a GPS position.
