Victoria Docks - Gate times

Hi,

Is anyone familiar with the gate times at Victoria docks in Caernarfon
planning a November trip round Anglesey looking at the gate times (attached) they lower it 08:30 and raise it at 13:19, is it not opened on the evening high tide?
If I've read it correctly can anyone suggest any alternative ports? We are in ribs drawing less than half a metre!

Their website:

"Access via 2 metre flap gate that is operated during the Summer period (1st April – 30th September) between the hours of 08:00 – 23:00 and during the Winter period (1st October – 31st March) between Sunrise and Sunset only(tide dependant)."

Looks like they don't clock on until 0800 and don't work in the dark...

If you look at the full table for November it's apparent that their working hours are 8.30 to 16.30. I was in there last Thursday on a quick visit from Conwy if you want to know any more about it.

There is Port Dinorwic Marina (Y Felinheli) but I've no idea whether short stays are possible there. Also a pontoon at Menai Bridge but it can be busy with charter ribs and a fair walk into the town. Landing on the pontoon at the end of Beaumaris Pier I believe is possible but again used by charter boats so you wouldn't be able to leave a rib unattended there.
Further round is Amlwch but that is a harbour wall, no pontoons as far as I am aware.

Dinorwic dries out at low tide.

They do allow short term stays though I've used it before for a night!

Went though a crazy phase earlier in the year of selling the boat.. think I'll buy an almanac for planning this trip!!

Maybe overnight in Conwy if the tides work? Conwy Marina gate is 24 hours. Would add about an hour or less to your circuit time.

depending on draft etc you can still get over the gate even if it’s closed, there is a depth mark above the gate on the wall next to the gate
