visit to Salcomb

Bought my trustie leeway "danger donut" with us to Salcomb with family, have to say loveing the ribbing. Not so sure about the road from southpool to east portlmouth bit of a tight fit through the tidal road! Staying at waterhead stuck an anchor out in the creek. Kids have a topper and kayaks. Loving life!

It's not that bad! (Unless you're towing a feckin great RIB down there) - I would imagine you made a few people back up, there are a considerable number who visit this area that can't do that and it must have been shear luck you didn't meet any at this time of year ............ Hope you got up to Southpool for a beer and the Paella?

Wouldn't fancy towing a Rib down that road!

Had my rib down there for 3 years explored all around the area, all year round. Had some great fun and some BIG Seas at times.

The Millbrooks a great place to meet up on a high tide

Polished the side walls a little on the Hallmark but no Chance of backing up so others did. Great week. few good Bass in the river. free pontoon in Salcombe is great been up most evenings. Unfortunately back to Bestival ferry traffic on the ferry then Southampton set up Monday. We were let down on stand marque last week so one from scratch working all weekend!

Those "Bass" you can see from the pontoons (assuming that's what you mean from the photo) are grey mullet and worth nothing!

I haven't caught one or eaten one, some get big, they are vegetarians so you catch them with a spear or a net, also a bit earthy and toxic as they chew the weed/antifoul of the bottom of boats
