There are two issues here I think

1. Night time vision
2. Eye protection from rain / spray

If your lenses don't allow you to see "well" at night (compared to normal night vision) the you should swap the lenses for glasses - or don't make night passages.

Eye protection whether you wear lenses or not is different as you may need this day or night. I normally wear some form of eye protection usually sunglasses (not at night)- and have a set with interchangeable lenses from clear to dark through yellow and orange as well as my "normal" shades which cover most light conditions

If it there's a lot of spray/ rain in poor visibility day or night it's probably helmet & visor time for me, but there have been times when it's been safer not to stop to pull the helmet / different glasses out out, but just to battle through and accept some water in your eyes / face until you reach a safe place to stop and pull out the right protection.

I guess the ultimate would be a pair of Night Vision Goggle with a wiper blade
