Volvo RTW race goings on - Saturday.

Anybody planning to go down to Portsmouth Historic dockyard on Saturday?
Should be lots of interesting stuff going on.

The youngest of my two lads is playing his Trumpet in the Portsmouth Grammar Junior School Brass band at 13:00 and 14:00, so I'd steer clear of the afternoon if I was you

Nasher.

Andy,

I think that is the start of the final leg of the race. We are marshalling that afternoon/evening - anyone else doing the same?

One of my mates is looking after Greyhound for the weekend for me Dave, he's definitely using it on Sunday, but might be amenable to letting you have a play friday or saturday.

I think you will find that Gunwharf will be a "no-go zone" until 2nd June. Best bet would be to moor in Haslar Marina and cross on the Gosport ferry. There is no mooring on the eastern side of the Harbour other than Gunwharf.

The 7th leg of the "volvo ocean race" ( your can Google to this, and it has a ton of good info.) will arrive at Pompey on May 20th. They are currently halfway across from NY. Also Lady sailor( forgot name, should be arriiving on same day after sailing around world single handed, wrong way ( against trade winds), 180 days, will be the first and follows in footsteps of Alec Rose. Should be a great and busy day in the Solent. Wish I was there. T.

I stand corrected Sun. am. it is. However, I was very close and got the info. from the skipper of one of the Volvo boats in mid Atlantic, today. Thank goodness there is still room for small errors.
