Wakeboard Accessories

Hi All,

The Missus and I have got really into wakeboarding this summer and want to use our Brig 570 Navigator as a tow boat for wakeboarding.

Can anyone recommend a board rack to fit the A frame, and a decent boat mirror please?

Anyone use their RIB for boarding, and use any good accessories?

Thanks

Matt

A photo of your specific boat would be helpful. Like does it have a windshield? Most mirrors for boats are designed to clamp to the edge of the window frame. I prefer two with one on the right and another above the steering wheel. Board racks have many options, with some very cool and expensive features like swiveling. Size of tubing will dictate which clamps. Quick release would be good.

To me a RIB will never replace a true inboard decked for wakeboarding. Something like a Nautique, has tracking fins up front and a large rudder in the rear to attempt to keep it tracking straight. Plus the boat has a lot of horse power and torque with cruise control to maintain speed. A hard cut will still roll the boat, change it's direction, and slow it down. It can handle additional ballast that will sink the boat deeper making a better wake. The wake being the single most important part needs to be solid and very rampy.

I found the single best accessory next to a lifejacket to be a helmet. Was one of the first ones to start wearing a Gath after blowing my left ear drum over 5 times. Found it lessened the concussions too. A longer stick for the flag helps to get it higher too. Water ballast might sink a RIB deeper, but they are buoyant. Had to stop riding after breaking my knee in 6 places trying to force the landing throwing a tantrum. At least I went out BIG. Rode once behind my Zodiac just to do it. Could barely land a backroll using another boats wake. Was fun for a few minutes though.
