Wakeboard/Waterski Restrictions?

Hi

Being very new to boating and the solent, are there restictions as to where you can/can't waterski/wakeboard.

I know there are specifc waterski areas, but if you are outside any shipping channels, a safe distance off the shore, and there is no speed limit ... are you safe/allowed to start towing?

Thanks for any advice.
Stuart.

From a safety point of view it is better to keep to the designated areas. if the person you are towing goes down he or she is very hard to see in the water. I use the area off Osbourn Bay . During the season sometimes you get boats anchoring in the area so I politly ask them to check their charts and usually they will move away.
