I have just taken a call from my cover maker that the promised 8.5 m cover is not ready despite promises and new boat arrives tomorrow, so Mr Angry asks-
Does anyone local to Southampton have a large cover 8.5 by 3mt beam for a short loan till maybe Tuesday?
Ian, upholsterers and cover makers in the area give us more problems than any other suppliers. I can’t remember the last time something was delivered by one, without constant nagging, on time and to a quality that was acceptable.
One day we will put a mezzanine floor in and start doing it in house. At £800-£1200 a time I am sure there is a profit to be had if the right service was offered.
Yes this one came and measured on 4/5 of March and needed 7-10 days. I get a call at 5pm Friday stating not done. I thought it was delivered onto the boat for transport
I guess you're other option is a tarp from B&Q, I remember using of their heavy duty ones on on my cat years ago.
Cheers Yes I was going to B+Q after delivery if I drew a blank. The boat comes shrink wrapped so Ok there but Once I remove that to start loading gear etc I would be open to elements and how are the elements this weekend?
Another big thank you to a Ribnet member "sidneycuth" who came to my aid last weekend and delivered to the marina and even picked it up a few days later. Before you run off and get new covers, he does not advertise here but makes covers etc, so PM him and see what he can offer. I will be in contact shortly to arrange a consul cover.
