Wanted - Suzuki Engine Interface Cable - Help Please

Hi all, much forum reading over the past 8 months, first post for me so first of all thanks to all the contributors to the forum who have helped me while I have learnt about RIBbing. My latest project is getting my 2006 Suzuki 115 to talk to my Simrad GO7, I need to set up an NMEA network and I know what parts I need but it seems the Suzuki engine interface cables are as rare as hens teeth. I need this one... https://www.internationalmarineservi...-88149-230.htm but this dealer no longer ships outside the USA. I found a dealer in Australia (Bayside Suzuki Marine) but the latest stock they received are locked and no longer re-programmable to earlier software versions (2.3) so no luck there. If anyone can put me in touch with a dealer who can supply these cables I would be eternally grateful.
Thanks in anticipation,
Grant.

Like this - Suzuki Engine Interface Unit with T connector - Boat Sales,Chandlery,Engine Sales,Repairers,Marine Engineers,Electronics

I bought from these guys, needed to make an adapter for my older engine as it has a different plug but was easy to do and it all works

Wanted - Suzuki Engine Interface Cable - Help Please

I probably have the right one and can make you a good deal but I’m in the states so shipping would ruin the bargain. I had an older Suzuki that blew up on me. A rebuilt engine so no Suzuki bashing. I bought a new one and it used different cables.

Well at £122 maybe I could save you some money

Thanks for that diver1, the cable you linked to is software version 2.9 and I'm fairly sure with a 2006 engine I need version 2.3. I'll phone them today to see if they have the earlier version. Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply Bigtalljv, can you confirm the cable is software version 2.3, if there is a part number on it it will probably be something like this....SUZ-990C0-88149-230, the last 3 numbers denote the software version. If it is then I could definitely be interested in your cable.

I definitely bought part number SU990C0-88149-290 as per my link.

It works on my 2002 Suzuki DF140 and shows correct engine and fuel information on both my Lowrance and Garmin Plotters.

Remembering now that you are right about the software - I downloaded the correct version of the software from this link here (free)

https://www.thehulltruth.com/marine-...an-done.html#b

saved it to a memory card and installed it onto the network using my Lowrance HDS

It wasn't difficult.

Thanks diver1, I phoned him this morning and explained what I want and he is going to get back to me on Monday after speaking with his supplier but that is very interesting that the 2.9 cable is re-programmable back to 2.3. Thanks again.

I used it on a 2005 250. I can’t check on the cable right now but I’m pretty sure there was no part number on it. I looked through my old emails and I can’t really find anything either.

I don’t really want any payment for it. It’s been sitting for several years, that engine is blown up and sold for scrap. If you want to take a chance I’m happy to mail it to you next week.

Hi Bigtalljv, my engine is 2006 so there is a good chance it might work, that is a very generous offer, can I private message or email you to exchange details and sort out address/payment details etc. Many thanks, Grant.

Brownspoint Marina in the USA supplied my interface cable to me in the UK. I haven’t heard of any issues with firmware levels other than there having been some issues relating to fuel consumption accuracy on the earlier models which was rectified with an update.

Correction....downgrade to fix fuel accuracy in my case

2.8 was massively out. I dont have a means to upgrade to 2.9 unfortunately. I think they downgraded mine to 2.3 but it fixed the fuel accuracy anyway more or less.

OK, that's interesting. I will check my firmware version later as I had to upgrade to get mine correct for a 2008 DF200. I've never been a fan of Lowrance stuff and this just confirms it!

I'd second that seller HDAV mentions... laurynas1986. Quick postage and helpful with queries.

Wanted - Suzuki Engine Interface Cable - Help Please

350 is the firmware revision. The Suzuki cables are very year specific & can be flaky if not matched with the correct year engine. The latest cables, the 290 & 350 versions can’t be downgraded to previous versions.
