Washing pole on SR5.4

Just came across this. Talk about an accident waiting to happen, especially in a rolling sea. Samson post... looks like a washing pole to me!

Appaently according to most ebay numpties, if it's orange it must be ex RNLI as nobody else ever had an orange boat

They did have a couple of non descript Avons for odd uses such as general purpose diver/safety cover for when doing crew/capsize tests in Poole harbour on the Atlantic 21,s before the indoor pool was built can't remember them having consoles either think 1 did have a Samson post but not like that.

Best fleabay ad I saw last year was a blue grey Campari inflatable ex Rnli ,,, Errrr I dont think so lol

I messaged for more details of the boat and was told that it WAS ex RNLI - Newport's surf rescue boat and if I didn't believe it then I should ring up the RNLI archives.

NEWPORT (PEMBS) SURF LIFE SAVING CLUB
Hi Mart, Newport Pembs SLSC are indeed independent /non RNLI lifeguards and to the best of my knowledge didn't have a boat before the Arancia..... The sailing club (Newport boat club) on the Parrog did have a couple of SR4's as safety boats and now an XS (also).....I think they still have the SR4's (or at least one) and if this is one of their old ones, it didn't look like that when it was down there..... I concur that it wouldn't be a valuable use of anyones time checking with the RNLI either

can see ok fine distance wise apart for reading ,just something they picked up on at a routine eye test where they found a tumour at the back of me left eye just a case of seeing if it gets bigger ,,so spent 2 days texting on me I phone with one eye it would have been ok if the fit nurse hadent started poking about with it wish now id got the ugly one .

Back to the thread ,as good as they are i dont think rnli archives will turn anything up without an operational number or offical name at this late stage.
