The scary thing is this is going to happen to us all eventually. One or two might even be there now

Navigation

once saw an interview with Tony Bullimore where the interviewer asked Tony how he first got into sailing, his reply was he bought his first boat and just went out there and did it and learnt as he went along.

Hey reminds me, wasn't there a guy who got into difficulties a while back and when the life boat dragged him in they found he was navigating around the coast with a road atlas of GB.

hey have to remember what dont kill us makes us stronger !!!

Yep husband and wife agreed to delivery a boat from the Solent to the top of the Thames, a journey of about 300 miles by sea or two hours by car and trailer. They got as far as Selsey Bill ! in ten hours.

When quizzed by RNLI they were using an AA map. They took on the trip becuase the owner wasn't very experienced

Was working in salcome at the weekend when a German guy asked me where the barbican is. I said I am not sure what you mean he said he had a table booked in a restarant and had just got into plymouth in the last half hour. Can I remind you that i was working in Salcombe. Dred to think what his navigation is like.
