Water Leaking into Hull

Hello,

I purchased a 2004 Zodiac Zoom 310 this Month. There are no outside leaks, but water is leaking from the drain plug. I am not a fan of the lever type of plug, aside from the price, which ranges from 60.00 to 80.00.

I want to buy another type of plug that is less expensive and more reliable.
Two questions:

1. Does anyone know of a direct replacement for the lever-type plug?

2. What is the best way to measure for a new plug? Is it the size of the drain hole on the transom, the existing plug, or both?

I appreciate any help you can provide.
