water on deck - thoughts ?

I bought recently a very decent and well maintained SR6 . The boat has the typical 2 elephant trunks but no bilge pump .
Currently there are still the 2x 60hp Yamahas installed on the back and the boat sits very high in the water .
These Yamahas I will replace with 2x 90 ETECs which will add around 80ish kg to the stern .
From rain and splash there is always some water on the deck .
On my previous Osprey VM I had the same issue . Te bilge pump on the deck never got all water out until a deep bilge was installed .
On the SR6 I have another idea and any thoughts are welcome .
The boat has a closed hull and an under deck inbuilt tank .
From outside is a bung installed to drain the water when the boat sits on land or trailer .
On the deck I have the 2 service hatches which allow very quickly to check whats going on inside the hull .
My idea is now to install in the deck 2x water drains to collect the water in the hull and to install a bilge pump (or 2) there to get the water out from the boat .
Through the service covers on deck it would be quite easy to install sealed "through deck" piping .
Did I miss or overlooked something ?

Hi!
I have exactly the same issue and I have a bilge pump inside the hull, the hose goes through that middle plate from where the fuel hoses are routed through the deck. When on marina I keep one of the hatches open, so rain water falls inside and gets pumped out. I also have a 30W solar panel that keeps the battery full. I'm planning to make a deck sump that would fit into one of those TCL3 hatch openings, and then I could keep the deck "sealed" and the water would gather into that insert/bucket. Bilge pump would also be installed into there. The plan is to 3d-print that deck sump bucket and then it would just drop in and replace one of the TCL3 hatches.

Hi neighbour - I am working in StPetersburg !
Thanks for your input - good stuff .
Good idea to go through the plate with the fuel hoses - saves one hole in the deck .
For draining the water I am thinking about using one of those drains as attached near the stern .
That will get out really all water .
Similar system is used on my Scorpion diesel .
The one which can be sealed with the plug is probably preferred cause when I have the elephant trunks down (seldom) there would be permanently some water going down to the bulge pump - which also does not make sense just to circulate the water
The idea with the solar panel I also like .

One option is to have a switch for the pump. To be able to turn it off when the trunks are open. But that then opens the possibility to forget switching it back on

This is no option - then the hull fills with water ..

Ah, yes, of course. I was thinking my deck sump thing. Instead of having the whole hull as a sump.

If you use a drain plug, then use the longest, metal one available.
Plastic lands are no good.
I suggest one that is a least 4 inches long.

Why so long ? 10" ??
I used to plug on my former 5.4 the small holes near the bow with the short plugs shown in the picture above - never had an issue .
