Water ski mirrors

Does anyone use a convex water ski mirror or similar.?

Looking to add a convex mirror to front helm consuls to give view of passengers , I have seen a few and need to know if suction ones work ok. The others will clamp to consul stainless grab rail but will leave an area to trash the covers when on boat,

any experience or types? Ta

I initially had one of the proper waterski convex ones that turned out to be expensive rubbish. The mirror part didn't like saltwater & corroded badly and peeled so was useless. It held on with a clamp as the suction part was also hopeless and fell off at the slightest wave. I ended up bolting a landrover one (eBay about a tenner) to the frame and although it's not convex has proved to do the job.

I had two on my wakeboarding boat. A side mirror and a rear view. A must have when towing riders! My boat was used in salt water for a short time of around 5 months left on a hydro lift and used daily, and there was no corrosion at all. Doesn't mean they won't corrode, just that mine didn't.

No where to put one on my SIB
