I;ve used these before but only for hill walking not boating. They were fine for keeping out the elements but I'm not sure about how long they would stand up to an immersion

Thank you, I have seen both and not sure they will hold enough, forgot to say we carry almanacs that this year got damp alongwith copies of coding certs etc and info sheets. Coding require we carry everything and to date we have kept it mainly dry and now reviewing kit I wanted a better option
Cheers Dan, that is where I think we will go,

If you go onto the 'Underwater Kinetics' site they have an extensive range of 100% WATERPROOF Boxes, from small, to Briefcase size. Not the cheapest, but I've had a couple for around 15 yrs and can't fault them!

That's why I have laminated color-copies of the relevant documents.

Finally settled for these bags, 100% waterproof for documents and almanacs. Should hold all you need for any inspections

cheers for updates, I see they grade all their bags according to waterproof levels, any idea what yours was rated for.
The bags I picked are mid range but must (hope) be better than previous options which after hosing down ruined almanacs and a couple of copy docs

They were class 3, same as yours. The bag was in an under deck locker, an inch or 2 of water got in through the waterproof hatch before getting in to the waterproof bag
