Todays forecast was for 40mph winds so I was prepared for a real battle to get to the tops ..yet I was pleasantly surprised it hardly hit 5mph. However they were correct saying it would be bitterly cold and wall to wall snow cover in West Scotland. But a least there wasn’t a midge in sight :-D

hope its not as cold on the west borders next week planning on a few days checking my caravan out. not been up there since October be nice to know its still got a roof

You don’t need an app or a forecast to know its Fi..Fu...Fu..Freezing in Scotland just now.

While Im trying to keep warm running around the hill tops... my brother is trying to keep warm paddling through ice in the sea lochs in a valleys far below... but the stunning frozen landscape takes the tingle out of frozen fingers at any altitude and makes it all worth while.

A frozen paddle and drip water on his kayak deck ..and loch Leven is a salt water loch

But its like paddling in Greenland just now...simply stunning. Credit to my bro for these two photos.

For those who like to see the wind forecast in a pretty picture.. try this link..its hypnotic. Just look at that depression to the south west of Iceland

Wow..lucky dog A1an.

Because both my bro and myself are retired and Scottish..we are too mean to turn on the house heating during the day.. so to prevent hypothermia turning us both true blue.. we do a little strenuous exercise to keep ourselves warm.

He thinks Im mad clambering around on the roof of Scotland.. while I think he is mad playing in ice flows far below. But being on top .. I tend think I am lord and master of all I survey ...

As long as the forecast keeps the rain away .. neither of us care today.

As Wilks neighbours would say “A Top of the world to you all”
