Weekend trip to Ireland

We've been up for a trip to Rathlin and the Antrim coast for a while now and got the "push" we needed from "CallumStewart"....He was going regardless and the forecast was perfect so really...........no good excuse not to.

Brilliant weekend.....could have done with a few more days but that's just a good excuse to do it all again.................

Great video, we are looking at a trip to Campletown from Largs soon, how long did it take you to get down to Campletown? We have a 5.5m rib with Yamaha 80hp 4 stroke.

Nice video and sea conditions were near perfect.

Was out on Sunday to a wreck on the east coast and we were navigating with GPS as the fog stayed all day.

We had the same on Saturday. Vis was about 50yds more or less all the way from Sanda off the Mull of Kintyre to Church Bay on Rathlin Island and much of the Clyde before that.... GPS all the way. Just adds to the fun.

Grand tour - Ireland 2nd June

Hi Last Tango,

Thanks for a great YouTube video!

It was fantastic for you to be with us & the criac was fantastic & we met up with our great friends in N.I.

After you left we took the bozs in the boat club for a run round Redbay & 2 of the crew had a dip in the pond but running at 40kn & 110 ltrs hour almost emptied our tank!!!

We have had great quality time with Anne’s mum in Cushendall !!!

Today we topped up the fuel tank & have 100ltrs in cans for the trip to Peel IOM, just under 70 miles & will watch some TT racing. We love Peel & it would be great to see Brian of this parish ?

Weather gods have been very good to us 😊

All the best Anne & Callum.

Well are you coming today or what.
If tomorrow, then this is the last day of racing (we have had some UNUSUALLY good weather this week-probably because Willk isn't here!).
Callum please let me know you ETA then I can maybe meet you.

The Grand Tour Ireland / IOM

Update:
Well we arrived in Peel ( 7/6/18 ) just under 2 ½ hours form Cushendall running at 28kn & Brian was there as per usual to welcome us to Peel IOM. We got a fantastic berth in the marina, then went out for a bite to eat & a pint then off to bed early as we would be up early to get the bus into St.Johns then a walk down to see the 1st race sidecars & then the seniors race & that was as good a race to watch at the TT as you will ever see 1 second off the fastest lap !!! Sat morning we meetup with Brian at our boat & he had a look round a totally different boat to the last time we meetup! Poor Brian has been through the wars of late & hope he has a fantastic time on the west coast of Scotland & sea is kind for a trip to St. Kilda. Saturday we meetup with friends for a fantastic meal at the Creek Inn ( fantastic food ) Andy from Denny & Denise & Stuart ( Anne went to school with Denise 33 years ago ). Sunday & its was time to head back home to Kip but we had left the fridge on & killed the battery !!! We fitted a new battery but missed the last gate at 11.00!!! great excuse for another day in the sun on Peel !!! Monday morning we head out the gate at 09.00am & a big thanks to all on the IOM for making our stay so good. It was very fresh leaving Peel force 5 on our nose running at 17ish Knots but after 30 mins & we hit deeper water we are able to run at 24kns we arrive at the Mull of Galloway & it was wind over tide & were down to 15kns with green water over the cabin, engine & trim tabs fully in we pass by Port Patrick & then Carinryn & plot a course for Little cumbria & back up to 24kn & Paddy’s Mile Stone was looking fantastic .In the sun shine we arrive at Kip at 15.00hrs total run time for the day 6 hours. Macaw is washed down unloaded & ready for the next adventure.
Thanks to Last Tango for joining us on the 1st weekend as the craic was mighty.
Will download some pics the mora.
