weymouth Bay

being fairly new to this....
A group of us are hoping to go from Castletown portland across weymouth bay to Lulworth cove, soon weather permitting, there will be small ribs (4m) and sibs. Is this a straightforward trip, any hazards i need to be aware of??

advice greatfully received..................

Hard to believe that thread's 5 year old already!

I was there last year, did Alderney-Poole-Weymouth-Lulworth-Bournemouth- Poole Saturday then Poole-Yarmouth-Cowes-back to Alderney Sunday, expensive weekend!

Portland to Lulworth is completely straightforward with no dangers, you don't even need to worry about hi-speed cats out of Weymouth at the mo either.
It's only 7 miles so 20 minutes at 20 knots - easy

hi matt, theres a great slip just down the road that's Free! there is a pay and display for those with no trailer.

I was just wondering where to put trailers, i have launched there several times, I have parked on the road.

but if there are several of us thats not an option.

some leave on spare land around the corner, just wondering if this is still ok???

There are a few rocks to be aware of near Durdle Dor - but all pretty obvious.
