Whale watching on trip back from Portpatrick

As the title says, on our return home from Portpatrick last week we were lucky enough to come across these fantastic creatures! Just thought it worth sharing!
I have a few GoPro videos but can't seem to figure out how to post them using the Tapatalk app??

If it was the whales leaping from the water, no, that was a fishing vessel further along the coast later in the day! Near Portavogie I think!

Really was an awesome sight! We were just in the right place at the right time, they were ahead of us when we stopped, they turned back to check us out, they swam around and under us for around 15 mins before heading on their journey! Some would pay good money to see a sight like that! We all felt very privileged!!

Great sighting you lucky beggar. Went north past Portpatrick having debated N or S from Port Logan last week looking and they were spotted south off the Scares in Luce Bay whilst we were out... sods law. Minke is the consensus of those who have had a close encounter.
I will be helping run a BDMLR marine mammal medic course at Stranraer this Saturday and will relate your story to them.

Yes they were definitely Minke whales! As I mentioned earlier we have video footage even closer but I'm using the Tapatalk app and an iPhone and can't seem to figure out how to do it! Any ideas?

Yeh....Makes your day.

We saw a couple near Tobermory last week but the photos we took weren't worth posting. Lots of pictures of the water after they had just disappeared.

Good work capturing the shots
