What are the Sea areas as defined for RCD CE marked vessels

This is a question that has come up on a few occasions,I have written to the MCA and as yet had no responce,Can anybody tell us.

You may find that People will be very cagey about giving out information on this subject, basically because it is strictly forbidden to give out information on this document called BS EN ISO 6185-3:2001 unless you have purchased it for a vast amount of money. !!!

Design categories

This much i can tell you

Design category Wind force

A Ocean Exceeding 8
B Offshore Up to and including 8
C Inshore Up to and including 6
D Sheltered waters Upto and including 4

Thanks for your help folks,I am going to speak to some insurance companys and see what they say on the subject and the MCA.
