Plus one from me on both Andy and Neil's last posts. I am always happy to help at any time as I have and will continue to do so if I can. Did not mean to rattle cages just wanted to add support to the ethos which already exists stupidly thought it could be 'admined rather than the very helpful ad hoc that helps so many members. I retract my previous statement.

Ach, it was a pleasure to have you aboard - you were the easy one
In fact, you did ME the favour. Now, when Irish ribbers ask me did I ever hear about the Amazing Surviving Rib Dude, I can say: "Did I hear about him? C'mere, wait till I tell you..."

Don't suppose anyone is heading from Manchester to Scotland in the next few weeks with space for a double kayak? I've just been trigger happy on ebay and now need to work out how to get it back!

Is this the sort of thing that can be carried safely on roof bars? Also Scotland is a big place.
It might help to add a bit more detail.

Yes roof bars would be the normal way of carrying it (strap down to roof bars preferably with some foam underneath; and ropes from bow and stern of the kayak to the car). Its a double so is probably about 5.5m long, and will weigh something around 35 kg.
I'm not far from Edinburgh but if anyone was heading this way at all then I'd be happy to rendez vous with them wherever/whenever was convenient for them.
Its in "Stalybridge" and I can go and pick it up - but its a bit of murder round trip to do in a day.

This sit has been working well for years in helping people out
http://www.rib.net/forum/f8/thank-yo...kee-10735.html
Thank You Rib net, Bogi & Cookee
As some of you may know I have had fitted a 150 Opti max to the boat!
It did not go too smoothly as then it was set up it needed a new air temp censer! Could I get one in time B4 I went on holiday no
But after a plead on rib net for help Bogi comes up trumps has the part in stock will send it over!
But I will be in salcombe so where to send it to? A call to Cookee & yes no problem send it to him at Banana Shark! so posted Friday picked up Monday from Cookee + he made time to show me around the work shop & the Race boat
Tuesday after a bit of name dropping thanks to Cookee again had the part fitted by blue water marine & out on the water
So a big thank you to all involved, just shows what a wonderfully thing the Tinter net is
PS. my pocket rocket scares the hell out of me now
45 knots (50+ mph) 35 knots push the throttle & you get a kick up the back side & the noise
Love it
Nick

Poly Stalybridge is just a couple of miles down the road from me, unfortunately I am not coming up to Scotland but if you need me to pick it up and store it for you, you are more than welcome mate.
