[QUOTE]but recent coastguard research[/QUOTE
gotta link to that?
a false sense of security perhaps, perhaps not-but as said I carry it to comply with the regs and I am aware of its limitations. We drive fast commercial vessels and the seven metre ish dutch angling boat we encountered anchored over a wreck 40 miles offshore in busy waters did not show on our radar at all and had no reflector. Good job the viz was no worse.

Yes - i agree radar reflectors should be used and carried, but as it stands right now you can buy that horrible 19.95 tube like thing and comply.

Also states it should be carried, not deployed.....although like lifejackets. Useless unless used!

QinetQ report was commission after the Ouzi incident. If I was in the South Coast I would definitely buying the biggest reflector or Active X RTE, (Radar Target Enhancer) although active X is only a X-band radar.

Becomes a limit that one can fit to 5.5metre Rib, although the combined Echomax and Nav Light looks good!
