Anyway, if you're in need of a BIG Scorpion blast, we (BIBOA) have been doing a "Race RIB experience" at a tenner a head (to cover the public liability insurance) for the last couple of years .

If you go to buy a 2nd hand car do you pay a deposit to road test the car?

Every situation is different if a RIB is in the water and has fuel onboard then no charge. If I have to tow the boat to a launch site and then pay for it to be put in the water I negotiate these costs with buyer and seller and its never been a problem.

I think that £50 is fair as one has to meet costs to include the labour charge of someone going along. However I would have thought that this fee would be removed from the purchase price should a deal be done.

Just to let you know, I am the proud owner of a 2004 ribtec 655 with a 150 yam 4 stroke. Buying a rib is more stressful than buying a house. Look out for "Dickiebird" around the Solent.

Well, It was not a broker as such but a boat builder that was doing a customer a favour.

When I went to collect the rib there was no air in the trailer tyres, no straps to hold the rib on the trailer, and no bung in the transom.

My Wife and I own a Post Office and Fish and chip shop, we deal with 1000 customers a week and an average spend of £3.00. each. We know we make the odd "male Chicken Up!" but in the main we keep our customers by providing a good product and a good service. I spent best part of £13k and was treated like crap! May be it me, maybe i expect to much, but I did expect beter service . I am however pleased with the Ribtec and went to Portsmouth today, It was great.
