What Flatacraft is this? Help...

Somebody here may be able to help, I'm trying to find out what model this Flatacraft is, I think it must be a Force 4 / 4 GT or Sportsman. We have just taken it in to sell. Any help appreciated.

Its grey with greeny blue trim, Tohatsu 60hp seats 4, measures 4.80 metres long, pictures below:

Thanks

I think the sportman was bigger than that. Mate of mine had a force 4 and it had the flat bow section, so maybe its the force 4 gt? Nasher might know....

The hull looks completely different, both inside and out, to the '82 Force 4 GT I had.

Does it say anything on the yellow flatacraft logo on the tube or the plate on the dash?

Force 4 GT

Built to take a bigger engine than the Force 4, and obviously without the flat bow that gives the 4 its distinctive profile.

I think however that its had some extensive work carried out to the deck etc.

Flatacraft had some issues with weak inner mouldings for a while and many have had to be strengthened over the years. They used stainless tubing with flattened ends for Transom supports and not glassed in knees, and the well in the stern is also missing.

Course, I could be wrong.

It looks in great condition, I hope it gets left as is and doesn't get stripped out to fit a centre console etc.

It's a Flatacraft Merlin. I happen to have an original advertising flyer if you want a copy!

The hull design looks to be the same as the Sportsman and Force 5 (obviously in different lengths though). It's nothing like a Force 4 or Force 4 GT.

The Merlin was first produced around 1993, and marketed as a family ski boat. I don't know how many were made, or if it even went into serious production.

Thanks! It has Merlin written on it, but didn't think it was the model because I couldn't find anything on them at all on the internet! Not sure on the year. He thinks it's 1996, but we suspected it may be older. Having said that, it is in very good condition
