What have I bought?

Hi all, I have just bought a RIB as a first boat for some adventures with the family down here in Plymouth. I was advised it was a Ribcraft 585, however the people of Facebook say not. There’s no identifying marks I can find, or they may have been painted over. So I was wondering if you wonderful people may be able to help. I’m not too fussed as the hull and tubes are sound, and the money I spent is in the engine alone. But, it would be nice to know and they want it for insurance. Photo for reference, if more are needed then I’ll update if required. Note, colour and rear bench aren’t original.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the board

Wasn't there paper work that should list year, make, and model?

Thanks, no nothing. The guy I bought it from had it second hand and fitted the new engine, redid the electrics and a few more bits. So paperwork and service history for all that is immaculate. But nothing at all for the rib itself.

We’d need more photos to give any meaningful advice. Hi res photos of the transom, inside & out, showing the knee braces. The console, deck, keel at the stern. The more you give us, the more help we can offer, otherwise it’s just guess work.

Maybe Humber destroyer? There's one not far from me with a very similiar looking rubbing strake on the bow. Did you mean the tubes painted too, or is that the original colour?

It could be the original colour, I know the top half of the tubes have been painted a lighter blue, and then repainted to match the bottom. So that could be the original colour.

Don’t think it’s a Humber Destroyer. They only have one chine running along the hull length. Also, they don’t tend to have a drain bung at the bottom of the transom, and the console and seating don’t look Humber either

It’s not a Humber Destroyer, having owned a Destroyer it’s nothing like it.

I spoke with a bloke recently who owns a Humber destroyer and he was sure it’s a Ribtec. Definitely not a Humber destroyer. The search goes on.
