What make rib is this?

Flicking about, as you do! And I came across this.

Nice clean slate and its a good size at 7.5m
I often think about another project,
I see this one converted to outboard power with a pair of 200's on the back.

Anyone have any info on it.....nothing in the description.

DSB inflatables? Deutsche Schlauchboot - just going by the patch up near the bow!

Know nowt about them - but that will be a project and a half and you'll need deep pockets. The bow cleat wouldn't be out of place on a tugboat! I'm assuming that's lifting eyes too, probably Solas registered in it's day.

Suspect that was a fast rescue launch in a previous life.

You get these types of RIBs popping up from time to time here: https://nwtandco.com/equipment/

Yes I googled them, but as far as I could figure out they are currently owned by Survitec/ Zodiac.
The reason I asked was I wondered if anyone had owned or had dealings with them, because that hull is built like a brick shithouse. If the boat handles as well as it's built then that my friend would make a great project and you could throw 20k at it and it would still be a cheap 7.5 meter rib.
Definitely a slow burning project though.

£20k won’t be enough. This might be underpowered, but gets you three engines, so you can strip one as a parts donor. https://www.findafishingboat.com/yam...-x-3/ad-139566

Just powering it will eat into your budget, never mind renovate the stern engine bay or add in a couple of anti shock seats and a console. There’s also the small matter of a trailer. Break out another £3-4k.

Seriously though, I don’t doubt it’s well made, but it’s like trying to get an old Dakota airworthy again.

If Zodiac are involved that wouldn’t surprise me. They have their own MilPro division and have a habit of acquiring other manufacturers. Maybe more details here. Iceland based supplier. DSB750, but no build details. https://isfell.is/en/vorur/work-and-mob-boats/

Have you actually visited the boat for an inspection? Is it a fibreglass hull or aluminium?

Not sure if the boat link is still valid? Was working last night.

Looks like some brave soul has taken the plunge on the project.
For me the project was a curiosity.
Had it have been a bit closer I would have had a look at it.
I would have popped it in storage next to my tornado and acquired bits and bobs for it,as an when they came up.

When I rebuilt my Tornado I loved every minute of it, and on completion I stood back with a bit of pride, if I'm being honest. What I wasn't ready for was the slight empty feeling.
I'm sure I will take on another project someday...
