Hi i was wanting to buy my first RIB as i have a collection of SIBS including a great Avon 4m Supersport and im in contact with a guy who has a 4.6m avon with a 40hp Mariner for sale and was wondering what model it could be.
The owner says it does not have a plate on the transom and his next door neighbour has a SR4 and its not one of those.The only other RIB model i know of is the supersport RIB version which i have seen a number for sale over the last few months.
My friend who has owned many boats over the years said this about Supersport RIB - "
get a sr4 the supersport slaps a lot...big difference in handling"
So i was hoping to narrow it down through here as my knowledge RIB's is limited.I was hoping to buy a SR4 but people selling them seem to of dried up for know and alot i was looking at where rough or overpriced due to covid keeping people in the country.
I did try googling but nothing usefull came up
IF i buy the RIB then i might as well sell my 4m Supersport SIB as they both fill the same roll of using them on tidel rivers and coastline while my 3.1m BARK SIB is great for canals and rivers where there's no slipway.
I managed to slimdown my flotilla buy selling a 4m zodiac i bought for a mere £550 which includeed a solid trailer which i kept for my avon supersport and about £150 of gear the seller gave me on top of the sweet deal,i then sold the SIB on its own the next day for £500 which was handy.
